  1. When I was a teenager, every Christmas Eve the BBC broadcast an M.R. James ghost story. He was a Victorian writer of horror and our family loved his chillingly creepy stories Here’s one.     • Ok. I have to ask… Why were ghost stories played on Christmas Eve?
      I wasn’t able to get the link to work, but I found quite a few of the stories by M.R.James on Spotify. Thanks for the recommendation.

      • Not sure I know the answer other than perhaps it follows Dickins and the night before Christmas and his Christmas Carol. All spirits at large sort of thing
