  1. That’s a home run on the eve of our Independence Day! That you added the extra challenge of fitting the prompt to a futuristic story is admirable. You are so right–we tend to take for granted what we have. Yet, I found the line “Sides had been chosen, had he chosen wrong?” to be chilling. We fight for what we believe in, but we doubt, too. That is so human. The last paragraph is paced beautifully and gave me a very patriotic moment as each color was revealed. Great flash for the 4th of July!
