Today I say good bye to my twenties.
This might seem silly to some, but I have grown accustomed to being twenty-something. We have had some good times together. And some bad.
This week I received a birthday card that summed it up the best; Some birthdays are more meaningful than others because they remind us of where we’ve been, what we’ve learned, and where we’ve yet to go.
And this holds very true for me this birthday.
In my twenty’s I have lived, loved and laughed. I have cried, been broken (sometimes literally) and scared. What I have learned is that you pick yourself back up when things are low. You need to enjoy and cherish every moment when life is good. Each day holds a new chance at life and it is a blessing.
And whether you are a writer or not, remember your life and what you’ve been through. Every experience, every feeling, be it scary, wonderful, life threatening, heartbreaking, heart soaring, tear jerking, painstakingly beautiful. Because it (life) only gets to happens once. And we never know when our time is at an end.
So good-bye age twenty nine. A year that started out with a fractured neck and ripped rotator cuff, but ends with a day spent with friends and family.
I can’t wait to see what my 30’s bring!
