Happy Monday!
Today my daughter and I woke up sick. I am not sure if we are suffering from a cold or allergies, but it has been a long day here at my house. However, this cold vs. allergies did give me an idea on what to write for my flash fiction piece.
The May 28, 2014 challenge from Carrot Ranch Communications was to: In 99 words (no more, no less) write a story about a decision between two clashing priorities.
Medicinal Relief
I stared at the cabinet pondering my decision. Do I grab the white box or the blue bottle?
Neither was desirable but what choice did have? I couldn’t take the pain much longer. I was in hell.
One of the two options that sat there staring back at me would ease my pain. Even possibly end it.
They taunted me.
I needed to pick one. The pills or liquid. I grabbed them both, one in each hand, like this would somehow help me.
A sneeze escaped sending me into a coughing frenzy.
Maybe I would just take them both.
Till next time,
~AJP
No fun dealing with real-life sneezes but I like your take on the prompt! We’ve all been at that medicine cabinet deciding which one will bring relief. Both! Great writing!

Thank you! Unfortunately nothing has helped this week! I’m pretty sure I have an evil allergy/cold combo fighting to take me down!! 😁

Great Story, but now I wonder what the bottles were? Nerve pills?

I was going for the clash between allergy pills and cough syrup lol. But I like your spin on it.

I hope you are feeling better. Glad the pills were filled with nothing more sinister.
